The default Palm device power management automatically turns off the display screen after period of inactivity. The maximum inactivity duration for this is currently 3 minutes. In certain situations you may not be interacting with the device but may want the display screen to keep on (not turn off). The solution to this may be the "Always On" application (Please read the notes and disclaimer below). With this app you can set display screen to stay on. If the device screen turns off after inactivity, this app will turn the screen back on automatically. As is obvious the device battery will drain when display screen is turned on all the time. So if after a while you want to let default Palm power management take over you can simply close the app. In this case the display will turn Off after inactivity period as set in your "Screen & Lock" -> "Turn Off After". Note: We have tested the app with Palm Pre with webOS 1.4. Keeping the screen always on is quite tricky unless you are an official app developed by Palm (com.palm.*). The updated app fixes issues with certain webOS versions. Please download the updated version. In some webOS the display may flicker. To avoid this the brightness can be set to maximum. In some cases the "screen lock" may come after period of inactivity. The display will still stay on. In this case slide the "screen lock" to unlock. The "screen lock" may turn off after a few times of doing this. Note: Palm webOS is rightly designed to conserve battery & to turn screen off after inactivity. This app is automatically turning on the screen to avoid pressing power on button. The overall experience may not be very clean. Please use this app only after you consider this. We recommend that you do not use this app if you are in doubt. Use it at your own risk. Future versions of Palm webOS may have different behavior and this app is not guaranteed to work on them.
