QR deCODEr is a simple QR Code (barcode) scanner / reader. The application allows you to snap a picture with your phone's camera or select a picture stored on your phone containing a QR Code, decode the code and view the information stored in it. For technical reasons decoding cannot be done locally on your phone. Therefore the picture is being sent to an online service for decoding and the results are then displayed on your phone. If the bar code contains phone numbers, hyperlinks or email addresses they will be “linkified” so you can tap them to launch the browser, email or phone application. If the barcode contains a SMS / text message, just tap the icon to launch your phone’s messaging app automatically prefilled with the message text and recipient number.
